Strange error message

I have completed my first test project without issue.
I went to open a second PowerPoint Presentation and I get this message:
Your Articulate Presenter project cannot be upgraded to the new Articulate Presenter '13 file format.
The Error pane will sometimes freeze my application and jitter on the screen.
I found the error in the knowledge base, but it is not relevant to my situation.
I am not trying to load a previous project, but simply open a new PowerPoint Presentation that I have never worked with in Articulate. Any PPT file in the same directory as the first one presents this error as soon as I try to perform any Articulate function. However, I can open and work with ANY PPT from ANY other directory.
I reinstalled the new version again, and rebooted my laptop.
Can anyone help me? I'm stuck!!

Are you working locally and not on a network drive? When you say the new version, are you on Update 4?
Working locally on my Laptop. I have Update 4 installed.

Also, after messing with it for 15-20 minutes, It just started working. I didn't do anything differently. It just accepted the new PPT and off we went.

Just wanted to point out that responding via e-mail attaches your signature to the forums, wasn't sure if you wanted that information here, but you are able to edit your responses if you need to remove any information.
