Strange things happening

Jan 10, 2013

Okay so I have a few different issues:

First, random crashes of articulate presenter from importing audio to publishing completely random to the task being performed.  No solution found yet, typically have to disable and then enable the ribbon.

Second, we have about 4 different player templates for the courses we publish.  I have just recently had the problem where items such as the "Powered by Articulate Logo", Attachments, Bookmark and Exit tabs have been showing up when they are deselected (no check in the box).   The only way that i have been able to get them to correct themselves is to publish the course in a different template, then publish it in the desired template.   I have tried selecting the check boxes, saving the changes, then deselecting the check boxes and saving the changes.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Hi Dan,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with this. Hopefully, we'll be able to get this resolved quickly for you.

It sounds like the issues you mentioned may be related. By any chance have you updated or changed versions of Microsoft Office? Make sure that you're working with the 32-bit installation of Office. The 64-bit version does not work with Articulate software and can cause some really strange problems. If you need help finding this information, just let me know.

Second, make sure that you're working with local files. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate). Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

Finally, see if the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article help solve the problems you're experiencing.

Thanks!
