Studio '09 vs '13 presentation_html5.html or presentation.html

Dec 02, 2013

In Studio '09, we are able to publish an audio podcast and include it in the "Attachments" tab as well as including the PowerPoint for our learners to use as part of their study tools.  In Studio '13, "Attachments" has been replaced by "Resources" and are we still able to publish to audio podcast (create mp3's)?

Instead of player.html, we are beginning to presentation.html and presentation_html5.html.

What is the link that is most recognized by all the devices?  It appears that iOS devices recognizes presentation_html5.html.

With these links, how do we make sure that the materials in the "Resources" tab load properly than just replaying the Articulate?

We used this as a guide.

If there is anything we're missing, please chime in.

Thank you.

Hi Aiko,

First, I wanted to mention that you're correct - the "Attachments" tab has been replaced by "Resources" in Studio '13. Also, this feature is not supported on mobile devices. If you're publishing for Flash (HTML) or HTML5 and viewing from a desktop machine, this feature will be included in your published project. However, if you view from a mobile device (iPad), the Resources tab won't be included.

Here's a helpful chart that covers the features that are supported with the different output options of Studio '13:

Comparing Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player Output in Articulate Presenter '13

It might be a good idea to keep that article on hand as a reference, especially if you plan on publishing a lot of projects for mobile learners. As for the URL you provide, it may come down to which features are supported in that output type and the main method used by learners to view your courses.

Also, podcast publishing was retired with the release of Studio '13. Very few people used the podcasting feature in previous versions of Articulate Presenter. However, we’re closely monitoring demand for a feature that exports course audio to a single file. If this is important to you, please submit a feature request so we can accurately track demand.

Having said that, however, you can still export audio. Here's an article that may help:

How to Export Audio

I hope this helps!
