Studio 13 Audio Editor

Oct 04, 2013

Just installed a trial version of Studio 13. I opened a Studio 09 presentation which had audio and upgraded the presentation to the new version. However, when I attempt to edit the audio via the editor function I'm unable to make selections or even get the audio file to play. The editor just seems to hang and act unresponsive.

The audio and animations work fine if I listen through the Record Narration screen, just not through Audio Editor. I haven't been able to find any other posts in the forum yet.

thanks!

Thanks - I have attached.  I noticed there was audio for my web objects (Captivate tutorials). So, I removed the Web object slides and re-inserted.  The audio for those now looks good.  However, my audio is now stopping on Slide 13 - Module 1.  I have even re-recorded that audio and still gets stuck there.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing your file Sue! I'm not having any difficulty with the audio in your course.

I would suggest that you be sure that you have the latest update to Studio '13, which can be found here. If you already do, please conduct a repair of your software.

Just wanted to update anyone interested on what I did to resovle the issue...

I had alreaday done a repair of my software, and that didn't do any good.  I noticed that when I went in to audio editor a few of the audio clips were incorrect - one slide with a web object which should have had no audio had a porition of an audio clip and another slide had the incorrect audio clip.  I had previously exported the audio so I tried to import all the audio over again but I got a message that the audio file was not the proper format.  This was odd because I was able to successfully import some audio from this same exported audio file on another attempt.

Ultimately, I thought it best to cut my losses and I created a new PowerPoint presentation.  Then, I used the "Reuse slides" option to bring in all the slides from the corrupt presenation.  Obviously, something was not quite right with the audio so I re-recorded all the audio and re-synched.  Then, everything worked fine.  The original version was created very long ago in at least version 09 (maybe even earlier).  I am guessing something was just not compatible with the new version.

HOpe this is able to help someone else.
