Studio 13 Sound Editor issues
Sep 11, 2015
I am having serious problems with the Articulate Studio 13 Sound Editor.
I have submitted some files and was told the PowerPoint (2013 version) was corrupted and given a fix for that - well and good but the root issue: Sound Editor NOT working is still outstanding. In looking through the discussions, this has been an issue and a concern for several years and since Studio 13 was issued.
I can do everything expected in Presenter, Quizmaker and Engage and all the sub-programs seem to work except the Sound Editor. Recording the Narration works as it should and I have no issues with it. However when using Sound Editor, it will not allow me to edit sound, it seems to now crash every time I try to use it and appears to be the reason the PowerPoint files are being corrupted.
Anyone have any advice or ideas on what I can do to get this element to work?

Hi Paul.
Sorry to hear about the difficulties using the sound editor. I took a look at your case and I will be following up with you via the case. Using the sound editor should not corrupt your PowerPoint file.
Ok - kudos to the Articulate support staff (Jason Wilcox in particular) who have helped me figure out what is going on. Long story short, my computer and some net framework files are messed up. Windows 8/8.1 is not a friendly platform in dealing with this so, I would have to really do a clean install to really resolve the issue. Another less painful alternative is to simply use Articulate on a different computer - which I tried and it works just like it should thus, problem solved.
That said, I lucked out and got another computer (mine next week!) that is really configured to support graphics, large files and all the other needs that go with the development of on line programs. This will now be the primary development machine as it is Windows 7, brand new and has no 'extra' software on it. Simple and effective solutions deserve praise - so, again thanks!

good morning,
I am making changes to an already produced presentation but now my sound is gone. I've checked my player settings but am unable to find out why there is no sound when I preview the presentation. HELP!
:)
Hi Zoinyer! I'm sure it was nerve-wracking to realize all your audio has disappeared, but don't panic! There are ways to recover it. Check out the steps in this article, and let me know if anything there helps you.
Thanks, I will try it and let you know how it worked out.
Kind regards,
