Sync Animation and Add Annotation buttons not working

Both the sync animation and add annotations buttons in the Articulate ribbon are no longer working for no apparent reason. when I click them, they don't launch. I have reviewed several postings here and have reinstalled the VB component in MS Office, I have checked to make sure nothing is disabled in File/Options. I am at a loss at what else to do. Any assistance would be very appreciated.

I am currently using Articulate Studio 9, Windows 7 and MSFT Office 2010.
