Syncing animation not "sticking"

Jul 19, 2012

I am trying to sync my animation to a voice file, but I am having trouble getting the animation to save.  The problem I am having, I have experienced before.  As I am listening to my audio, I click start sync then next animation at the appropriate times.  When I replay it, only the first animation appears, but none of the rest do.  The way I have resolved this in the past is to delete and resave my animations or restart PowerPoint.  Neither has been successful.

What I have noticed is that when I begin my sync, it shows me how many animations are waiting to be activated, in this case 5.  After I click next animation to activate the first animation, instead of the number reducing to 4, it remains at 5 but reduces on subsequent clicks.  So when I get to the end, I have activated all the animations, but the counter still says I have 1 remaining.  I have tried letting it run out and I have tried click stop, again with no success.

It may or may not be relevant, but there is a video that has been inserted on this slide and starts automatically when the slide is active.  The audio file discusses the video and I have text appearing to reinforce what is being said.  I appreciate any help I can get on this.

I have noticed the same thing and I find that if you open audio editor you will see the animations on the audio file.  Sometimes the animations are out of order.  Simply sliding the animations into the correct order will allow you to resync or you can put them into the correct place within the audio editor.

Hope this helps
