Syncing animations manually

Mar 23, 2012

I'm having difficulty syncing animations.  Sometimes it works right, other times it does not.  For this course I decided NOT to sync while recording, planning to match them up using "Sync Animations" when I was finished.  Unfortunately they several slides are not coming through with the syncing I set using this method, so I'm going to have to sync them manually through the audio editor.  Is there a way to view the PP slide notes while in the audio editor?  I'd rather not have to close the audio editor afer syncing each individual slide of a 70 slide course so that I can advance to view the notes section of the next PP slide.

Hi Joyce,

I may be misunderstanding what you're describing, but go to your Articulate menu and click Presentation Options -> Other, and then mark "Show notes pane on narration window." Then, next time you open the Sync Animations window, you should see a pane at the right for your slide notes. Is that helpful, or am I missing exactly what it is that you're trying to do?

Thanks for getting back to me.  I can see the notes pane when I'm recording/syncing/annotating.  The issue is when syncing doesn't work right using that method.  Then the only option is to sync using the audio editor.  The audio editor shows a thumbnail of the screen, but doesn't show the notes pane.

I resorted to printing out the PP notes pages and used that as my guide to get the syncing to work.  I was just hoping to save a tree.

Hi Joyce,

You probably already know this, but just in case...(I wasn't at first aware of it). Have you noticed that near the top of the window, above the wave and under the toolbar, the Audio Player includes little dots, and when you hover over them, a tool tip appears showing what the animation is? These can be dragged into position to the appropriate spot on the wave. This makes it MUCH easier to synchronize and I, at least, didn't need to print out the script.

If you already know this, apologies. If you didn't know it and need a screen shot or more details, just say so here.
