system lockup

I keep locking up my laptop when attempting to open slide properties. I also notice (Compatability mode) at the top of the screen. What is going wrong?

I would suggest shuting down your computer completely and then letting it sit for 5 min. Turn it on again ad hopefully that will help.

Don't "restart" do a full shut down. Also run a repair on your Office via add remove programs in the control panel.
