Tabs interaction not supposed to advance automatically

Jun 24, 2013

I created a tabs interaction within a presentation. It advances automatically after the last slide plays even though the slide properties are set to advancing "by user." I've played around with the slide and interaction properties and just can't get it to work right.

I need users to view the entire slide, then click Next (which should appear after they view all the tabs) and it should take them back to the Menu slide (slide 5). Right now, the interaction properties are set to "Anytime" and "Show upon completion." The slide is set to advance by user and branch to slide 5.

Here's a link to it: Anatomy of Product and Service I can provide a package file if necessary.

Hi Pratima! I took a look at the presentation that you sent.  Let me make sure I understand correctly...you're referring to slides 5-7, right? Slide 5 is menu, click top, goes to slide 6, user advances through and clicks next, back to slide 5, click bottom, goes to slide 7, user advances through and clicks next, back to slide 5, then end? I'm not seeing auto-advancement.  I had to click 'Next' just as I understand your expectation to be.  How are you testing your content?

If I go to slide 6 or 7 and use the arrow at the top to click through, when it gets to the last tab, it plays to the end and then immediately goes back to slide 5. In other words, it doesn't require me to click Next to go back to the menu.

The SME discovered this--I was clicking the tabs in random order and it worked just fine. Basically, I need it to stop playing and wait for me to click Next whether I'm using the arrows or tabs. Does that make sense?
