I have recently upgraded to Office 2010, however now when I publish some of the text boxes behave strangely. They look fine in powerpoint. Does anyone have any idea of what is causing this? As a work around I turn them into images, but that isn't really solving the problem.
I think I may have found the answer. 2010 has the option to convert smart art to shapes, and keeps them grouped as one object. Removing the grouping seems to cause the shadow/blurryness. Keeping them grouped solves the issue.
Your solution is right on the money. If you ungroup a SmartArt Graphic in your presentation, you may find that the text in each object is doubled, so that it appears blurry, fuzzy, or shadowed.
