The next version of Articulate Studio

Oct 11, 2012

Hi everyone,

I’d like to update you on the next version of Articulate Studio.

While we’d hoped to release this year, we’re now confident that we’ll release Articulate Studio products in 2013. (We’ll refer to the new version of Studio as Articulate Studio ’13.) Articulate Studio ’13 products will include an impressive set of new features that’ll make it even easier to author rich, interactive content within PowerPoint.

We’re working diligently to get all Studio products ready for beta testing early next year—and are now actively recruiting beta testers. If you’d like to test Articulate Studio ’13 products on production work, please send your request to beta@articulate.com. We highly value your participation and feedback.

We look forward to putting Articulate Studio '13 in your hands as soon as it meets our stringent standards.

Thanks,

Arlyn

Okay, so here we are at April 17th and everyone is asking me when the beta is starting. Any word yet?

Hi Linda.  The Studio '13 Beta has started.  If you haven't sent a beta request to beta@articulate.com, please do so.  If you have and haven't heard from us, we'll be adding new beta testers in future phases.

Thanks for confirming that the beta HAS started. I signed up for the beta many, many months ago, and everyone on my team is asking about it, so thanks for confirming that.

I'm on a call right now with people asking when the product will be available to purchase, but since I have no insight, I can't really advise. We're getting a lot of pressure about tool purchases given the time of year and budgets, and I'm afraid with all the delays, we're going to end up going with an inferior tool that has the proven capabilities that we're looking for. I know, for example, another team has set up a walk-through of the latest version of Captivate with some folks from Adobe for this afternoon, so I'm concerned that all the work we've done with Articulate Studio '09 may get scrapped in favor of what's currently available from Adobe.

Bummer.

Welcome to the community, Vishal!

Customers who are current Platinum Membership Plan holders will be able to get the upgrade for free.

Others who are current licensees of Articulate Studio '09 will receive special upgrade pricing (rather than paying the full price) if they choose to move to Studio '13, once it's released.

I'd recommend connecting with your Articulate product specialist to talk about the pricing options available to you. If you're not sure who your product specialist is, let me know and I can help you get connected with the right person.

Thanks!

Hello,

Another bug in addition to the one pointed out by Pankaj...Studio is trying to talk to /TCAPI/statements/ with an extra slash ('/') on the end of the statements endpoint. This violates the Experience API (Tin Can API) standard.

This is a direct result of Articulate not testing/developing against multiple Learning Record Stores (LRSs). So, Studio is only compatible with 1 LRS (SCORM Cloud).

We already have a few of clients getting errors and would appreciate any direction to help resolve this issue.

Thank you.
