Tracking what has been clicked on from a menu

Oct 04, 2011

Hello all,

I'm very new to eLearning creation and Artculate so I'm learning as I go.  I've created a branching situation with hyperlinks where learners can "click to learn more" about 6 topics.  After clicking on 1 item, they return to the main menu to click on more.  The final item allows them to continue to the next slide and the rest of the course.  I want to track what they've clicked on by adding check marks or something to the menu to reduce confusion on what links they have already clicked on and what is remaining.  I've searched and search but I think I'm using the wrong search term.  Does anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Katie, this is difficult out of the box with studio, you can fake it with upto three choices by using complex branching and more than one menu slide.  More than three really becomes a nightmare.

You could take an on rails aproach in that all the options are greyed out and after viiting one you return to the menu (actually a different slide) and another option becomes available.

Or you could use flash variable to pass information back and forward through your slides (on enterframe blog has a demo, but you will need some flash skills
