Transcript Text not Appearing

Jul 18, 2012

I recently made a powerpoint project using presenter as well. The program is finished, but it's come up that the last screen (a hidden congratulations screen) does not always display the Transcript text. I was playing with it, and it seems that it WILL display it, but only if you tab away from Transcript and then tab back. Initially, it will only display the 'time' for the frame.

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this, or if a setting on the frame may be causing this.

I have deleted and replaced the text, but it did not solve it. Thanks!

Hi Chris!

Are you able to post a link to your course, or send us your project files so we can get a better idea of what might be going on? Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Articulate Support - Upload Your Files for Review

Thanks!

Hi DeDe

Doesn't look like we ever got a case to explore with Chris' issue, but we'd be happy to take a look at yours and see what might be going on. Are you able to share your files?

First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload.

Thanks!

Peter,

I just noticed a similar symptom.  Notes tab is selected to be published, and my PPT Notes pages have plenty of text, but text isn't visible on the Notes tab in the player. The first ten slides lack text in Notes, though in some cases the scroll bar for the Notes tab acted as if text were there. Then text appears for a few slides. Then no text appears for several more.

Bonus symptom: the Search tab correctly identifies slides where the PPT Notes contain the text. It's like text is coming over but is invisible. A quick check of the Notes Master shows the text color to be black.

This file and feature worked OK last fall.

I have this case open at the moment, and wonder if you recommend adding on this symptom or starting a separate case: 00336341: 00336333.

This text problem is a show-stopper for me.

Best,

Christine Hendrickson

Hi there True,

I agree, this sounds like some really strange behavior. Sounds like something's keeping the text from rendering properly, especially if you've verified that the font color is set to black.

I looked up the case 00336341 and see that Cleo's been working with you on some other issues. It might be best to request his assistance for this one, as well, if possible.

If you do open a new case, though, please share the new number with us.

Thanks very much!

@Christine,

Thanks.

Cleo responded as part of case 00336341: 00336333.

He pointed to a solution here: http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=3598.

That solution worked for me.

I'd be surprised if something like this can't be fixed in a future Presenter patch. As a global replace operation, it requires no nuance.

Best,

Hello,

I have the same problem but in Articulate Presenter 13. Notes tab is selected to be published, and my PPT Notes pages have plenty of text, but text isn't visible on the Notes tab in the player. I looked at the following solution (http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=3598) but I cannot find a presentation.xml file in my published files because I'm publishing to LMS (SCORM) and CD, I could not find the file.

Thanks
