We are developing courses using Articulate Presenter Studio 13. The page numbers and footers are set up correctly in PowerPoint's Slide Master. However, when I publish the course using Output Options SCORM1.2, the footers convert but the page number show up as #. Any ideas how I can remedy this? I have tried everthing I know within PowerPoint.
I have tried that (numerous times...in numerous ways). The page number symbol is on the Master slide. The page number shows up in the PowerPoint just fine; however, when the course is published using Articulate Presenter 13 the number reverts back to a pound (#) sign.
Any thoughts?

Attached is a published course "shell" template I created using PowerPoint and then published in using Articulate Presenter. You will notice that the page numbers do not translate from the PowerPoint Master slides.
To view this content:
1. Save the attached zip file to your computer.
2. Extract (unzip) the file.
3. Double-click the presentation.html file.
For slide numbering, I used in PowerPoint Insert -> Slide Number feature in the Master Slide of my presentation (Powerpoint 2007 and also 2010) . The page number shows up in the PowerPoint just fine; however, when the course is published using Articulate Presenter 13 the number reverts back to <N°> sign (see attached files).
Thank you for your response. I use the Insert -> Slide Number feature in the Master Slide of my presentation in Powerpoint 2007.
(see attached files)
I do this without copy the tag and paste into different slides even if this will work in Powerpoint
I have tried that (numerous times...in numerous ways) but it’s always the same problem. The page number symbol is on the Master slide. I don’t understand why ?
Any ideas how I can remedy this? I have tried everthing I know within PowerPoint
Thank you in advance,

I'm having the same issue with Presenter 13. I'm working with a deck that the Master Slide has been changed so much, I think the page numbering is broken. Works ok in PP, but not when published with Presenter. I think the only fix in my case is to create a new Master Slide and then reformat. Not worth the effort for one course.
If you're up to a challenge, jump right in. I would not spend a lot of time on this. This was suppose to be a quick edit and a publish. Manually inserting slide numbers would be far quicker.
Thank you Leslie for your help with this. I think I tried every variation possible inserting page numbers with no luck. I retried again with the steps you posted and now it works. Weird!
I know you're not supporting PowerPoint, but I do have a quick PP question. Why are you able to edit pages numbers and footers on the main slides when they were created on the master slide?

Hi Anne!
For slide numbering to publish correctly in Articulate Presenter, you must use the:
Insert -> Slide Number feature in the Master Slide of your presentation in Powerpoint.

Hi Paul! I responded to your case. Took longer to get my FTP client working than it did to fix your file ;)
For anyone else:
1. View > Slide Master > Choose Slide Master used in course > Click Footer in Menu
2. Insert Tab > Slide Number > Check Box for Slide Number

Hi Paul! Glad that was able to assist you.
As for the 'why', I surely couldn't speak to that. I'm sure it's for flexibility in your course development though.
