Trouble with attachments

Dec 20, 2011

Hello,

I created an Articulate e-learning with 2 engage interactions and 1 file (Word doc) attachment; I published it to the web to test it, and the attachment link didn't work.

I went back into Articulate to try to delete the attachment and PowerPoint froze. I used the Task Manager to forcibly shut down, had to disable and then re-enable the Articulate ribbon and addins, then tried again. Did this twice, then tried just replacing the file link by clicking the ellipsis to search for the document again. Again, PowerPoint froze. I have tried this twice.

I have also rebooted, and searched for articles but cannot find any information to help.

I am using Windows 7 OS and Office 2007. This is the first time I've experienced trouble with an attachment.

Can anyone give me any ideas for things to try?

Thank you,

Jen

Thank you for the information Peter. We went ahead and uninstalled Office and then reinstalled a more recent version (2010) with the 32 bit encryption.

I'm no longer seeing Powerpoint freeze when I attempt to delete and/or edit an attachment, and I can access the attachment when I preview the elearning. But when I publish to the web, and then launch the resulting player.html file, the attachment doesn't open. I am not getting any errors - just that clicking the attachment link (i.e. you click the Attachments button, then the link for the attachment in the pull down) does nothing.

We are using IE 8 as our browser.

Can you think of any other issue that could be causing this? I'm assuming that attachments should still work regardless of which publish option is selected.

Thank you,

Jen
