Unable to record after publishing

My computer was updated the middle of last year and I have had trouble with Presenter O9 ever since. Right now I am trying to update some of my learning modules. They were probably published before my update. Now I am trying to re-record some of the slides and the narrate function won't let me. I select start and it immediately stops. I can import audio fine, but info has changed and I need to update audio. Help I am very frusted. I also converted the slides to 2010 but that isn't helping either.
I am on deadline and running out of time.

Welcome to the community, Dava!
Sorry to hear about the frustration. Can you tell us exactly what updates took place on the machine? Were they Windows updates, or did you update/upgrade Microsoft Office?
If Office was updated, please make sure you're running the 32-bit installation. Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010. Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version, and Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version. Presenter '09 also will not work with the Click To Run version of PowerPoint 2010. For more information, please review this article.
If you continue to have issues recording using Articulate -> Record Narration, follow these steps to diagnose the issue.
Please let me know if the information above helps resolve this problem for you.
Thanks!
Thank you for your input. I had the wrong input setting on my microphone. It was a hardware issue, not software. I have purchased Storyline and am looking forward to using it. I just need to get these 15 other modules updated first.
Thank you again.
Hi Dava,
Excellent news Thank you very much for the update!
