Update 4 broke Presenter
Oct 19, 2014

I updated to Update 4, and now the ribbon doesn't work. When I click to import audio, I get an error message and ma told to send an error report. I worked through all the steps in this document: http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter-13/unexpected-or-erratic-behavior-in-articulate-studio-13, except for repairing flash because my computer think Chrome is running even when it's not.
I've tried doing the simple articulate repair and that didn't work.
I've tried uninstalling the update and reinstalling an old version of presenter that I had saved on my computer and that didn't work.
I'm running Windows 8 with Office 2013. Please help.

I just tried doing the complete repair on Microsoft and I got another error when I clicked on Import Audio. See the full text of the dialogue box from the image below.
"See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box."
ok, so apparently the 10th restart was the charm. It's working now.
Hi Katie!
I know that you've also posted in a couple of other threads about this issue, and if you continue to have issues, I would encourage you to reach out to support to see if we can get down to the bottom of it
Hello Katie,
Did you just keep restarting studio? Then is started working?
Hi Christine!
I just responded to your post here as well.
Go this error report but I think it is restored. The slide properties
opened which is more then I got all afternoon. Thank you. I will try to
make that articulate package for you and upload to the link you sent
earlier. Again, thank you.
Error report......
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I am having the same problem after installing update 4. What did you do to get it working?
I started another thread concerning this: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-presenter/presenter-13-u4-crashes-when-i-click-slide-properties#reply-222942
Hi Trey!
I cannot answer for the users here, but I responded to your other post as well.
Hello Trey,
I had re-install articulate studio. When I updated there was a screen
that offered three choices, the first on was to update or something to
that effect and the second option was to re-install the product. I
removed the product and re-installed it, re-registered it and now it is
working.
Good luck,
Christine
Thanks for sharing Christine :)
Your welcome.
One more thing, I had to do the update from Google Chrome. IE seems to be having some serious glitches. I could not update articulate even with the re-install from IE. And unfortunately everything from articulate products seems to automatically open up IE. Same if you need to upload a file to articulate, use Google Chrome. My files did not seem to get to them from the IE browser. I did it twice on IE and only had success in Google Chrome (1 try in google chrome and they had the files).
Interesting. Thanks for sharing that. I have not seen that reported, but will keep an eye out.
