I bought presenter and engage back when it was version 5.
What was the last version of that before it changed to studio and where can i download the update to make sure it works with Word 2010 and Vista 64 bit
The last version of Presenter 5 was 5.4 and the last version of Engage 1 was Engage 1.3. You should be able to download those versions by referring to your order confirmation email. If you don't have that, please submit a support case:

Studio Second Edition is not supported in those environments.
How convenient that is. Like you guys are taking a trick out of microsofts book
I dont have funds to upgrade, so I guess I have paperweight pieces of software that I can look at but not use anymore. After shelling out for articulate and engage its disappointing to learn that I would have to shell out all over again just to have it work on an OS that all computers come with now days. - Disappointing
The software came out in 2005 so it doesn't support operating systems and office versions that came out 5 years later and didn't exist when we were developing the software. We are good, but we're not that good.Sorry. If you have an old Windows XP disc you could use VMWare on your current machine and install the software on a virtual machine. It looks like you can still get XP over at Amazon. You could get an older computer that the software works with. However, we stopped developing the version you are using 3 years ago.

If you need to work in a Vista 64 bit environment using Office 2010, you would need to upgrad to Articulate Studio '09:
