In 2014 our organzation upgraded to Articulate Studio '13 Pro from an older version (I believe it was 2009). As a result, I was unable to open/modify any of the courses I created using the older software.
Thinking ahead, does anyone know if 2013 will be compatible with future releases? Re-creating the courses was very labour intensive.
Upgrading from '09 to '13: Your existing projects won't be changed unless you open them in Studio '13. When you open an existing project in Studio '13, you'll be asked to upgrade it. A backup copy will be created in case you decide to go back to the earlier version.

Hi Brittany!
Are you stating that you could not edit your Studio '13 content in Studio '09? This would be expected.
Your '09 content should have updated to '13 though and a backup file would have been created.
You can read additional details here.
I cannot speak to our future updates and we do not share product road maps, but you should not have to re-create typically.
Hi Leslie,
Thanks for your response.
The situation was, using 2013 we were unable to edit any of our courses created using 2009. Should this have been the case?

Not at all Brittany.

That's a shame. Thank you for verifying. I will try to do some digging and see what happened. Perhaps it was how the software was installed.
Good to know for the future that this should have not be the case.
Thanks Leslie!
No problem Brittany. Yes, please reach out for assistance :)
