Urgent: Articulate Presenter freezes after...everything

Mar 14, 2014

Hi Articulate,

I'm looking for support with an issue that I've noticed since upgrading to Presenter 13.  Every single time I click on an Articulate dialogue box the program freezes, and I have to forcibly close it.

I've created a short video that outlines my operating environment, it demonstrates the issue and my workaround (which is to close Articulate.Presenter.exe within the task manager).

This is a fairly substantial problem - I've been using Presenter since 2007 and to be honest I've never experienced an issue like this.  Please advise on what steps I can take to make Presenter 13 functional without the need for CTRL+ALT+DEL.

If anyone else in the community can suggest a resolution we would more than welcome it.  I would be happy to provide additional details for troubleshooting.

**Note: The only other PPT add-in is Adobe Acrobat (as you can see in the video)**

Hi Leslie,

Unfortunately that didn't seem to work. UAC was disabled before I even installed Office (it's one of the first things I turn off in Windows).

I've repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Articulate Presenter 13
  • Adobe Flash for Internet Explorer

Additionally, I've run that batch file while Presenter was uninstalled, and I've verified that the .net framework is up-to-date.  Articulate has now wasted my entire afternoon with what feels like a guesswork solution, the software equivalent of "did you try rebooting." What else can you suggest?

Best,

-Greg
