URL anchor is removed
Aug 17, 2014
Hello,
I've been having problems with Presenter removing my URL anchors. I enter the following link
http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/M-7.01/page-1.html#h-1
but from Presenter preview as well as the LMS the URL anchor or "#" gets removed and the link is broken. The following is what link is open from Presenter
http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/M-7.01/page-1.htmlh-1
The links all work from Powerpoint. This is the Justice Canada site and the anchor opens link in the correct location within the regulations.
I've tried using boxes and linking from them but that doesn't work either.
Any suggestions?

Hi Stacey and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
This is actually something that our QA Team is aware and working on. I will add this thread to their working list so that we can update this thread when needed.
In the meantime, I would recommend using something like bit.ly to shorten the link.
Having the same issue... a link, which includes #, won't work once the course is published. The published version removes the #.
Has this issue been resolved and/or do you have any suggestions for a work around?
I have no update to provide at this time Diane as it is still in the hands of our QA Team. A workaround that I shared above though, is to shorten the link with something like bit.ly.
Thank you for the update and quick response, Leslie.
Of course Diane! Good luck with your project.
Popping in with an update on this:
A user in this thread stated that they were able to work around this by utilizing the resources tab.
Another staff member suggests this workaround:
Workaround: Use %23 rather than #.
Note: PowerPoint changes %23 back to # when you close and reopen PowerPoint, so you'll need to switch back to %23 if you need to publish again later.
Any follow up. This workaround doesn't work on Articulate 13 with PowerPoint 2013
Hi Tan and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
I do not have an update to provide. Which workaround is not working for you? The % sign or utilizing bit.ly?
