Video embedded in course wont play, script error

Apr 02, 2013

Hi all,

I uploaded a course on hosted lms and some users are able to view the course while other users complain the video portion of the course doesnt play the video it displays a blank slide.I logged in as user and experienced same issue.I extracted the player file from the scorm zip file and played it, a script error window displays and clicking on yes the video plays.I close the player file reopen and video doesnt play.The script error disappeared. I opened the PPT presenter file, reembedded the web object, published and viewed course which played video.I close the course.Go back to the newly published saved file and click on the player file, video doesnt play.I go back to the PPT presenter file, web object link is no longer available.

What it the world is going on? Has anyone experienced this issue? I would appreciate any help.What a day.

The course was created in Presenter 09 by a former colleague.

Thanks

Maurine

Hi Maurine!

Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Thanks!

Hi Peter;

I developed a course using mp4 animated video segments on each slide (1 ea). When I published it to the Web, the module plays fine on a PC but on our ipads the video won't play. Some slides an image of the video will show up but no video. All else in the module plays fine on the ipad. Any thoughts?

Using HTML5 and audio files are narrating the video file (which has not audio)

Hey David!

Can you tell me a little more about your course and the way it's set up? For instance, how are you viewing the course on your iPad - via the Mobile Player app or HTML5 in mobile Safari?

Also, any other media playing at the same time as your MP4s, like an audio file or something?

Thanks!

Audio is playing, and using HTML5 only
