Web Object does not display when published

Jan 10, 2014

The web object I inserted into my presentation displays in Firefox but not Internet Explorer 11.  I've read that I should load it to a server but, unfortunately, I don't have a web server.  I hesitate to ask the client to test it on their server because I want to be sure I'm not wasting their time.

I'm open to any feedback or direction.  Can anyone reassure me that if the web object displays in Preview mode and displays in the published course in Firefox that it is very likely to display in IE when loaded to a server?

I'm using Presenter 09 and the web object is a swf created in Captivate 5.

Thanks!

Hi Mike!

If you don't have access to your LMS for testing, there are still other free options that might help.

You're welcome to use our testing server. Just keep in mind that this server is only intended for quick testing and isn't fully supported by Articulate. Also, any content uploaded here will be automatically removed after 10 days.

You could also test your project in SCORM Cloud
If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing AICC content at SCORM Cloud

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Christine,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Tempshare didn't work for me but SCORM Cloud did.

The web object inserted into an Articulate Presenter course still doesn't display in Internet Explorer 11.  The web object displays when I use Firefox, Chrome or Safari.  I don't have the option of telling the learners which browser to use.

The same Captivate project, published as a Captivate course, is viewable with IE11.

At this point I'm going to start recreating the entire course in Captivate but I'd love to know if you have any suggestions for how to resolve the issue with IE11.  By the way, a friend who also develops courses in both Articulate and Captivate says the web object displayed when she viewed the course in IE10.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having to do some extra work for this project.

I know there are some issues under investigation with Internet Explorer 11, but I don't see anything specific to web objects.

Are you able to package your project so we can test this out on our end? You're welcome to share it with me here, or send it over to our support team. If I'm/they're able to verify this issue, we'll be able to send it over to our QA team for investigation and look into a fix for he issue. If we're not able to verify the issue and we're able to find a way to get this working with you, we'll be able to share the information here for you and others that may run into the same problem.

If the file isn't too large, you'll be able to attach it to your response here.

If you'd like to send this over to our support team, you can do so using the following form:

Submit a Support Case

If you send it in via the case form, please share the case number with me. I'd like to be able to follow along and check out the file for myself as well.

Thanks, Mike!
