Wingdings font

Jul 17, 2014

Hello,

I have an issue with using the "Wingding" font in PowerPoint. In particular, it's the checkmark (shift-p). When I use that function, it doesn't translate after publishing. It turns my checkmark into a hollow square bullet. I also tried using the symbols function and it does the same.

Any way around this issue? Please advise.

Hi Anthony,

I'm not seeing the same thing on my end. I inserted a symbol using Webdings and I also used character code to insert a checkmark.

I'm seeing both of them when I publish:

Checkmarks P13

Make sure you're uploading to a web server before you test the published project. If you're viewing it locally, there may be some restrictions that are causing the font/symbols to show incorrectly.

Let me know how it goes!

Awesome. Thanks so much Christine. Right now, the client is satisfied with the appearance of my presentation. They did notice that the old player had checkboxes and the newer version currently has hollow boxes. I've added the webdings to the presentation but I haven't yet tried publishing. I have time to check all possible avenues before their next request, so I'll keep you posted on my progress. Thanks again!
