18 Pt Bold Arial Text Alignment

Jan 15, 2014

This is weird. I dont get it.

  1. Insert a blank slide in Quizmaker 13.
  2. Insert a text box. Format as 18 pt. arial.
  3. Enter some text, then bold a word within the text..

The bolded word rises slightly above the rest of the text. Does not happen with any other font size or any other font. If you click within the text box, the bold text aligns. Click out and it rises again. It publishes risen.

I am flummoxed.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the information!

Just tried this out and I don't see this behavior in the slide itself, but I do see it when previewing and after publishing.

Here's a screenshot of the "in slide" text with formatting vs previewed and published:

Here's the published version:

Testing Arial 18 pt Bold Formatting

I applied the underline formatting in a section just to display how "off" the text is that has the bold formatting applied.

Can you confirm you're seeing this only during preview and after publishing, please? You're not seeing this while in the slide and editing, correct?

Thanks, Jack!

Hi Jack,

Thanks for confirming!

I believe I have all the information I need at this point to pass this on. Since it's specific to a font style and size, I'm not sure if we'll be able to make any changes to this, but if it's a possibility that would be great.

If you find any other information, please send it our way.

Thanks for catching this and sharing,

Christine
