3 Quiz Queries

Nov 20, 2011

Hello community!

I'm trying to do the following three things in Quizmaker and haven't been able to locate them in help or via Uncle Google:

1.       I have made a drag and drop matching quiz, and in the top 4 boxes, the word '- select –‘  comes up in the matching box, but in the bottom two boxes, this does not come up. My client wants this removed from all boxes, or to show in all boxes. Any ideas?

2.      Points tally - My client wants the points tally to never show, but only for the students to see the success/fail slide depending on what they got right. Does anyone know how to stop the points tally from showing?

3.      Is there an easy way to change the design and layout of the articulate quizzes to match the defaults or colour scemes in engage interactions without doing something tricky and adding drawing objects etc?

Any help so gratefully accepted it's not funny!!!!

Hi Dani

Are you able to provide a screen shot of what you are seeing in point one above, it might help to clarify the problem.

For point two I'm not quite sure which cumulative scoring you are wanting to remove, but this can be done by editing the quiz template you are using.

Clcik on Player templates and the Edit for the chosen template.

For point 3 the design and look of the quiz can be changed using Slide View (of the question). There are designs built in otherwise you can build your own like in Powerpoint. Click on View then Slide Master.

Hope some of this helps

Hi there Blair

Really appreciate your taking the time to leave a response.

1. Here is a screenshot:

You'll see the '-select-' has not come up in the bottom two. I've tried creating more room, moving the boxes about in slide view, properties etc. Let me know if you have any brilliant thoughts!

2. Worked like a charm, thanks

3. Yes I'm aware of the slide view option, which has the same range of colour scemes and options for adding coloured boxes etc. as powerpoint. I guess i was hoping there was a template or option where the formatting could be changed to match the engage interactions, as building a copy from scratch can be fiarly hit and miss!

Just trying my luck of course

Yours in hope,

Daniella

Daniella, i tried recreating the quiz as per your screenshot but unfortunately (or fortunately) it displayed correctly with "Select" in eachdrop down.

There are colour schemes available for the quiz player, and these can be changed in the Colours and Effects tab in the screenshot above. these are the same colour schemes as engage.

Hopefully someone may be able to help out with your display issue

Ok, I'm with you now, however i can't find a colour scheme that matches with the default engage colours. Tp throw a spanner in the mix I actually use a transparent colour scheme for my engage interactions and use the slide master behind it. I would suggest creating your own custom colour scheme for both engage and quizmaker if you are wanting them to both look the same. There are job aids in the downloads section which explain the colours of each.

Hope that helps

Hi Dani and Blair,

Great suggestion re the downloads Blair - I've only discovered them a couple of months ago, after spending time doing my own - scribbling on screen shots about what name applied to what feature on screen etc... oh painful.

Anyway - off topic, but I just wanted to say hello to you both - you're the first NZers I've come across here. I'm in Auckland, designing a whole bunch of e-Learning modules around the insurance industry.

Nice to virtually meet you both!

Cheers,

Sarah.

Dani and Sarah

Good to see other kiwis on here (Daniella I didn't even realise you were from NZ). If you ever feel like collaborating or sharing ideas let me know. I haven't come across too many NZers using Articulate buts its good to know you are out there. I'd be interested to hear of some of the challenges you face, as they can be quite different to what the Northern hemisphere experience.

Cheers

Blair
