I'm having difficulty allowing users to either retry OR view results, rather than both. If a user can review the quiz and/or print results, they'll easily be able to cheat upon retry.
Am I missing something? I want users to have the option to retry the test once to get a better score (no set passing score) but not be able to see the answer explanations until that second attempt is completed. Upon final submit, they should be able to review and print results.
No worries- I appreciate you helping out. We're on 360. I've read all the documentation online and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. It seems every solution involves setting a specific fail/pass score.
not sure I'm clear - so the user takes the quiz but you are not scoring them so how do they know when they retry they are doing better second time around? What options do you have selected on the results slide?
So, we set the passing score to 0%. They can see their score on the results slide. If they aren't happy with it, then can then choose to retry. I have the same options selected that you're showing- I just want to affect WHEN each option is available, using variables.
The standard Results slide allows users to cheat. They can Print Results, and then use those answers to retry the quiz and get 100%. This should be hard coded to disable the retry option after they have reviewed or printed the answers.
Here is a random idea...can you import the QM file into SL and add a result slide in SL where you will be able to use variables or the success/fail layers to show the buttons you want.
Too funny- we just did that and that does work to some extent. We have to build a large volume of these mini-quizzes, though, so we were trying to create a template directly in Quizmaker to make it a little easier.
Out of curiosity, how do others manage this situation? It seems like every learner would cheat if given the option. Is there a way to prevent this using the existing Results Slide?

Hi Janis
if I am giving two attempts at the quiz I put the review button on the correct layer and the retry button on the fail layer
Thanks, Wendy. There isn't a passing score, so there isn't a fail layer to use. Passing score is set to "0."
Sorry Janis - I was responding for SL I missed you were using QM...which version are you using?
Here is a KB article from the User guide - does this help with Retry and Review'

Does that clarify?

Ha ha - great minds ;-)
I don't work much in QM we do everything in SL so I can't be much help on answering that.
