Hello Daisy - I'm sorry, there isn't currently a way to apply automatic numbering or letters to the answer choices in a quiz question. That would make a great feature request. The workaround would be to enter the letters directly into the textbox of the answer choice, and then be sure to turn off answer shuffling so that the choices always display in the expected order.

The automatic numbering feature on the Home tab in Slide View is designed more for applying numbering to multiple paragraphs within a single text box. Since the answer choices in a quiz question are all contained within separate paragraphs, it doesn't really work to apply automatic numbering to those.

Is there a way to alphabetize glossary (Engage) terms?

Hello Erin - yes, the Glossary interaction in Articulate Engage will automatically alphabetize the terms that you add to it. The only exception would be if you include an introduction or summary in your glossary... an introduction will always appear first (before the terms) and a summary will always appear last. Does that help? Are you seeing some other behavior?
