anonymous survey not so anonymous

I have a survey running that is supposed to be anonymous. The link is public and the guestbook collects nothing. It appears that the surveys of everyone who has taken one of the other courses online already are NOT displaying as anonymous. The other course requires guests to log in using their email address. The new survey somehow knows "it's them" and identifies them on the Articulate Online survey reports. The respondent is unaware. I am not sure, but it looks like perhaps people who signed but dropped out of the course also are identified on the survey. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Hi Kevin,
It sounds like the users who are also taking courses have their internet browsers set up to remember them, and therefore log them in or capture their information when they take your public survey. Would it be possible to update the invite information to let them know that they should be logged out of AO, and clear their internet browser cache before taking the survey? That should get rid of a trace of the user in AO when they go to take the survey.
Hmmm well I don't want to alert them to the posibility of the capture. Perhaps I can find some wording for the next time so that users don't temper their responses. As of now, I am the only one who knows and sees. Frankly there are too many to look at for me to care about who exactly said what anyway. Thanks
Sorry I couldn't offer more help Kevin, but I agree - don't let them know you know.
As long as you're able to keep an unbiased opinion towards the survey results and respondents, I think you'll be ok - you just may want to update how the report looks if you have to share it with anyone else.
