Answer Field in Numeric Questions Already Filled in

Jan 08, 2018

Hi everyone! I'm experiencing a strange issue in Quizmaker 360 and I wondered if anyone else has run into it too. My course has four lessons, and there is a quiz at the end of each lesson. When you get to the second quiz, each answer field for all Numeric questions is already filled in with an answer provided in the prior lesson. For example, if you type "111" in the answer field to a question in lesson 1, when you reach the quiz in lesson 2, the answer field has "111" already filled in. This means the user will have to manually delete the answer and then type in the answer he or she wants, which obviously is a problem. I've tried rebuilding all quizzes completely, being careful *never* to copy/paste full questions, as I've always found this to cause problems in the past. But even when rebuilding all quizzes from scratch, the issue persisted. This happens in both the Flash and HTML5 output, and across all types of devices.

So far my only possible recourse is to include a note saying "Please clear the answer field and type your answer in", but this is not a workaround I'm very fond of, since it basically apologizes to the user for having to take a course that isn't working correctly.

I'm putting this out there in the slim hope that anyone else has run into this and knows how to resolve it. Thank you!

Thank you, Alyssa! Please do let me know what your team finds. As you might have seen, this is an issue I already had logged awhile ago... I just wanted to open it up to the community to see if anyone knew of a way around it.

Phil, can you elaborate on that? When I look at the Timeline, the answer entry field has the default name of "Numeric Entry" for each question. I haven't been changing the name of it from question to question or quiz to quiz, and I doubt the program would require you to do so. Is this what you're referring to? If not, perhaps you can provide a screenshot of what you're talking about.
