Blank Slides with Custom Feedback randomised

Jan 19, 2012

Hi

We (the team and I) have built some tests in Quizmaker 09 that have the following setup:

  • Two attempts per question
  • No correct Answer pop-up feedback
  • There is a pop-up for the wrong answer that has one space(bar) in it so that the Try Again button appears on the first wrong attempt.
  • Each question is followed by a blank slide with custom Feedback.
  • There is now branching set up on the question slides, so both the right and wrong answers will go to the same feedback slide.
  • There is no group randomising - The questions and feedback should follow on in the same linear format as they have been set up.

Here's the problem:  When we preview or publish some of the tests, the all questions appear in the correct order, but they all go to the last feedback slide and not the one that is next in the menu.

Here's what hasn't worked:

  • We tried to setup the branching for every slide, so that the navigation is completely inflexible.
  • We tried to randomise the group and lock all of the slides together in their correct order.

Here's what has worked:

  • In the original setup of the feedback slides, we used the text fields in the Form View to fill in the content.  We then formatted that in the Slide View.  What we've now found is that putting the main feedback content into the "Enter the Text" field provided on Blank Slides in Form View is causing the issue.
  • We're now going through each test that has this issue, removing the text from the form view field, switching to the Slide view and inserting text boxes there.  This is proving to be a massive task!

Has anyone had this problem before?  Are there any suggestions?

-Paul
