Can I add a back button onto the frame?

Nov 04, 2011

Hello!

I'm using Quizmaker to set up an assessment to test the learner's skills in a particular area. They need to read a story, look at some images, and then answer questions based on the info from the story and images. As I click through the quiz, using the next button, all is well, except there doesn't seem to be a way to go back. The learner may want to go back to one of the image slides to look at it again, or go back and read a paragraph. Is this possible? I've looked and can't seem to find a way to add a "Back" button alongside the "Next" button in the lower right corner of the player frame.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank you,

Michelle

Hey there Michelle. Couple of ideas.

You could switch your Quiz Player Template to a different navigation method, so that the learner submits their answers "all at once" instead of "one at a time." If you do that, they'll see both a Previous and a Next button in the lower-right of the quiz frame. With this setting, they can move freely throughout the quiz and then click Submit All in the lower-left corner when they're totally finished looking at everything. Here's a tutorial that explains more.

Another approach is to include a Question Navigation Panel in the upper-left of your quiz player, and just make it super-clear to learners at the beginning (either by your narration or by some on-screen text) that they can use this to jump back to previously viewed quiz slides. They can do this regardless of the navigation method you've chosen (Submit One at a Time, or Submit All at Once). Here's more about the question nav panel.
