Cannot insert quiz

Sep 30, 2011

I cannot insert a quiz into articulate, I get a dialogue box that says unable to insert, the quiz may be open etc

I have checked the filepath for both and they are under 256 characters (C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop)

I have tried using a new blank presentation and the quiz does the same, I have opened the quiz and done save as another name as well as copying it and renaming it

I can import the questions into another quiz file.

I have just chacked and cannot insert any quizes, I have already reboote my machine

any ideas

Hi Phil,

I apologize for the issues that you're having.

You may encounter one of the following errors when launching Quizmaker '09 or when adding a quiz to a Presenter '09 presentation if the Articulate directory in your user profile is Read-Only:

***  "Access to the path C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Shared\1.0\Frames\ccSmoothFrame.swf is denied."

***  "Access to the path C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Articulate\Shared\1.0\Frames\ccSmoothFrame.swf is denied."

***  "Unable to insert the selected quiz. If this quiz is already open in Articulate Quizmaker, please close the quiz and reinsert it."

To correct this issue, please do the following, depending on your version of Microsoft Windows:

WINDOWS 7 / VISTA:

1)  Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.

2)  Copy and paste the following line of text into the Run dialog, and click OK:

%appdata%

3)  In the window that opens, right-click the folder named "Articulate", and select Properties.

4)  Deselect the Read-Only check box, and click Apply.

5)  When prompted to "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files", click OK.

6)  Click OK again to close the Properties dialog.

WINDOWS XP AND PRIOR:

1)  Go to Start > Run.

=============

Let me know if that resolves the issue.

Hey Phil,

It sounds like importing the questions into a new quiz did the trick?

Yes it worked great, I thought it was all quizes because the quiz would open and I did save as, and still it wouldnt insert.  Its strange but fixed.  Thanks to all at articulate.  Great customer support really differentiates you from the crowd!
