Change Passing Score Percentage to Points

We have a customer that does not want the passing score in Quizmaker to be based on percentage but rather on score. The reason being that they want to include additional questions that a user is branched to if they fail the first question. But with passing score percentage it includes all questions including the branched to questions which not ever user will need to to. For example, if we have 10 questions and each question has a "2nd attempt" question that the user sees if they fail the initial question, we have 20 questions altogether. The passing score percentage is based on 20 questions. The lessons are on a LMS.

Any creative solution would be appreciated. I figure that in Storyline we could create some conditions to overcome this issue.
