Comparing QM scores

May 25, 2011

I'm looking for some assistance here, without using the phrase "I hope this will be handled using Storyline variables"

I am converting some "web"/html based content to Articulate Suite.

Currently - they take a pre-test, do not get told the answers but get the result.

Once they have done the learning, they take the same test again, and the scores are compared, and shown to see how much learning has improved.

How could you do this using QM/LMS? I guess the functionality would have to come from the LMS. At the moment, it is very smooth and simple, but I have no clue how to achieve this without getting an LMS, (not yet chosen or installed) to take control.

I probably also want to have some control over what modules they take based on what scores they get over a certain threashold for each question bank in the test.

Any ideas welcome!

Hi Bruce

We have done the first bit this in quizmaker in moodle.  We had three seperate published scorms

Pretest (QM inserted in articulate)

Course

Post test (QM inserted in articulate)

As we could only track one quiz this was the best solution we could find, it also meant we could compare via the gradebook and download to analyse in spss

In hindsight we could have used a multi SCO and moodle would play this in sequence

If we had moodle 2 (I am avaioding this)  I believe you can do sequencing which would answer your second question.

However most scorm 2004 compliant lms should allow you to sequence based oin a score
