Drag and drop for sentences

Nov 01, 2014

I am trying to use drag and drop so that my ESL students can create sentences with a group of words.  It seems that all you can include are things like shapes, pictures, captions, characters and text boxes.  How do I use this so that I give them words, such as "lake", "we", "yesterday", "went", "the", "to", which they drag into the sentence "Yesterday, we went to the lake." ?

Hi Eileen,

You could put the words within colored text boxes or captions to use as a part of the drag and drop.  You'll need to create the box for each word and enable them all as drag objects, and then just determine where the drop element will be - likely another box to indicate to the learner that the item can be dropped there. Here is a tutorial on working with drag and drop questions in Quizmaker.
