I have a custom drag and drop interaction (.swf) that was created by an outside contractor.
I inserted the file using the Insert>Video option. The interaction works when I preview it, but does not when I publish my ppt for LMS. Instead a blank slide plays for 5 seconds.
I am new to Articulate and have probably have missed a setting or am doing something wrong. Any suggestions on how to approach this?
Thanks for your prompt response. The file I have is not a quiz that was created in quizmaker.
This .swf file is basically a fill-in-the blank sentence where the user has to drag and drop the correct word from a given group of words into the right spot of the sentence. I was told this type of interaction wasn't really possible using Engage or Quizmaker, which is why someone else made it. However, when I take this file and try to insert it into my slide as a video, it doesn't work when published. Should I be trying to insert it as a web object or something else?
If I haven't better described my problem let me know!
Thanks for clarifying, Melissa. You can insert your .SWF file by following the instructions and video tutorials shown here, but simply inserting the video won't give your users the interactivity of actually dragging and dopping anything. If you're interested in creating an interactive drag and drop-type scenario with Quizmaker, you may be able to find the type you're looking for here:
Never tried Snap so cant really comment, you can place images over the drop side of the quizmaker drag and drop, but that is really the only solution I can think of. You can build it in flash, sorry I havenothing better to offer
Are you able to send us the .QUIZ file you're having the issue with? Our support team will be happy to take a look and see if it's something we can help with.
It is a problem with the swf. file after it is imported to Articulate (I have attached the fla. in my previous post).
Within the swf. there is a drag and drop interaction. Users need to drag the syringe onto the reactive strip which changes colour after doing so. The interaction works fine when viewing the swf in a normal web browsers.
After importing it into Articulate the colour change no longer works...
Thanks for the additional info, Henry. We'd really need to see your .QUIZ file to determine what we can do to help. Are you able to submit a case to our support team for assistance?

Welcome to Heroes, Melissa!
Articulate makes it easy for you to insert existing quizzes and interactions into your Presenter course. If you'd like to add your quiz as a slide, go here:
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/?p=17
Or if you'd like to add your quiz as a tab, go here:
http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/?p=18
Is that what you're hoping to do? Let me know, and welcome again!

And if you do decide to go the route of inserting the .SWF, here's our KB on best Flash movie practices:

I hope that's helpful!
Thanks Peter! I think it was just a simple error on my part. I was inserting the file as a video, not a Flash Video.
Once I selected Flash Video, I was able to get it all set up properly.
I will definitely check out the knowledge base for best practices too. Thanks again.

Happy to help, Melissa, and glad you got it working!
May be I have missed something on drag & drop options.
I am trying to build a quizz where learners are required to seize a specific clipart
already shown on the quizz slide and drag it to another part of the slide.
Something similar to chest pawns being moved from one slot to another slot.
They have 2 specific cliparts to place (drag& drop) inside one of the shelves of a case cabinet.
They have the choice between 10 possible slots for each clipart.
They have to stick to certain rules taught to them in previous slides to trace the proper slot for each clipart.
So if they manage to find the proper slot for each of the 2 (possibly 3) cliparts ,they have won.
This feature is available on snap but snap is not powerfull enough and the slide size is too small.
Many thanks for any help.Is this doable on Quizz Articulate?
Sorry Gery thats not posible in Studio
Thank you Phil,
This is amazing since this type of drag& drop is basic and very helpfull.
Can I find a solution close to this?
Is there any way to build a similar quizz to be inserted inside a course under articulate ?
Besides ,what do you think of Snap ?
I bought it a few months ago and I have been disappointed.
I consider it to be close to a marketing fraud since a number of questions on the related forum remain unanswered.
I also noticed that neo refrence elearning course was shown for refrence purpose (I mean issued buy clients unterelated to snap)
Plus,no reference of corporate buyers (I mean big names or average names),no journalists prizes either.
Never tried Snap so cant really comment, you can place images over the drop side of the quizmaker drag and drop, but that is really the only solution I can think of. You can build it in flash, sorry I havenothing better to offer

Can anybody help me with this little related pickle?
The colour of the reactive strip should change when the user drops the syringe on to it.
The swf works fine until I import and preview it in Articulate, then the colour change doesn't work...
Any ideas?
