Dec 23, 2011

We have a quiz on our system, but when we ask the users to Email the resutls to us we a huge comma deliniated file.  Is there away to modify this output, or do we need to create a macro in excel to fix this?

Hello Ari!

The emailed results from Quizmaker quizzes are provided in raw text format in the body of an email. Raw text is the most flexible and universal format for analyzing data.

The simplest way to analyze quiz results is to save the data in a CSV file and review it in a spreadsheet or database program.  Here’s how:

  1. Copy and paste the text from the email into Notepad.
  2. Go to File > Save As.
  3. From the Save as Type drop-down list, select All Files.
  4. Type a File Name and add .csv to the end of the file name (for example: Results.csv).
  5. With the data in a CSV file, you can now open it with a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel, or import it into a database program, such as Microsoft Access, for further analysis.
