Hi there! I am designing a test in Quizmaker and was wondering if there is a way to add extra credit questions to my test (meaning the user is awarded points if correct but does not lose points for an incorrect answer or for not answering the question at all).
Hello Jessica - That is an interesting question. Hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in with experience/suggestions as there is not a way 'out of the box' to do so within Quizmaker.
In Storyline, you have access to variables and seems more feasible.

Hello Jessica - I put together a rough example for you to just show the fact that you can have non-scoring questions, a variable to represent, and be a bit more independent than your 'results'. I'm sure there are many others in the community that could make this design idea come to better fruition, but I just wanted to share since you asked. I'm included the published output here as well as a sample .story file.
What happens when you try to open the file Jessica? Do you see an error message or something indicating it's created in a newer version of Storyline? What version of Storyline are you working with? It looks like it was created in Storyline 2 so you should be able to open in Storyline 2 and Storyline 360.
If when you download it, you see it only appear as a .zip file and a collection of files try downloading it from another browser or look at renaming the file and setting the file extension to .story

Did you try Ashley's suggestion above of utilizing a different browser to take a look? I've seen what you are reporting happen to users and it be browser specific.
Hello again! Sorry for the delay. Other projects kept me from this one. This idea will work however I was hoping to use a "fill in the blank" set up versus the multiple choice model. Do you have any insight on this? I tried to create what you had done but with a text entry.I set the trigger up to Add the Bonus points on the condition that the text entry is equal to the answer but it doesn't appear to work. thanks!

Hello! I am using Storyline 2. It opens as a zip file. Within the zip file are XML documents. That's all I see.

that was the issue! Went from Explorer to Firefox and I could open. Thanks so much! I'll keep you all posted. :)

Hello Jessica - Whew, who knew 25 days ago would cause a blank ;)
I added a short answer survey question for your 'fill in the blank' and it seems to be working.
