I have created a quiz that has 24 questions. On the Success results screen, I have placed a button that takes the learner to an external site. When I test the hyperlink, it works fine. When I published the quiz as a freestanding learning activity (not in Presenter), the button does not function properly whether local or through the LMS. I decided to see if the pop-up blocker played a part but it did not help when I turned them off. I also tried clicking on the Finish button but that did not function properly either. The only thing that worked was the Review Quiz button.
Are you, by chance, testing this in IE 10 after publishing from a version of Articulate Studio that was released prior to March 2013? If so, it sounds like you are running into an issue that was fixed in Studio '09, Update 9.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have updated Studio to the latest version. I have tested the quiz on two machines. Both machines are running IE 9. On one machine the buttons work fine. On the other machine, nothing happens when you click on the buttons. At this point, I don't think anything is wrong with the quiz; however, I will share my quiz file if I find out that all of the other settings are exactly the same on both machines.
