Go back mid-quiz
Feb 29, 2012
In Quizmaker, is it possible to set it up so that a person can see a question and if they aren't sure of the answer, leave the quiz to return to the course and look for the inofrmation and then go back to that question in the quiz? This would be useful in a scientific course I'm setting up, where we want the user to learn the material and not necessarily just pass the quiz.
Thanks-
Jon

Hi Jon.
You can absolutely do this in Presenter using Quizmaker provided you allow the user to leave the quiz at anytime and that you have Resume enabled in your Quizmaker quiz in Player Templates -> Navigation. Check out the screencast and let me know if it helps:
Thanks Justin-
I'll give that a try. The only difference I see between your example and my course is that I'm not using the menu at the left, at my client's request. I'm hoping the user will be able to use the navigational, forward and back buttons to accomplish this.

I tried this, and in the preview mode, it worked fine and let me return to the same question in the quiz. But when I publish it and then leave the quiz at, say, question 3, after answering questions 1 & 2, iand then return to the quiz, it takes me back to the beginning of the quiz and my responses to questions 1 & 2 are gone. Each question is set to allow just one try, so I don't know why it is erasing the answers in the two I completed before going back.
Is there a reason my settings would work properly in preview mode but not when published?
Hi Jon.
I would send us your project files so we can take a look.
Is there a way to make this work in Articulate 360? The options have changed. I've implemented all that I can, but it still goes back to the first question of the quiz instead of question 3.
Now I'm getting the message "You may only view slides you have already viewed" when going back to the quiz.
Hi Julee,
What Resume settings have you enabled in the Quizmaker Player? You should use "Always Resume" there.
If you're still having trouble, you can share your Articulate Package with me, and I'll be happy to take a closer look.
Thanks for suggesting this setting. I updated the files and I am still getting the error message.
I have a ticket open if you would like to look at the latest package that I uploaded: 01236249
Should I upload a new package with the "Always Resume" setting?
Thanks for letting me know you've got a case open, Julee! I see you recently sent your package to Rowie. He'll take a closer look and let you know if there are any settings you're missing.
