The quiz in one of my modules includes 2 questions utilizing the hot spot function.
This works fine on my Windows PC. However, one of my users just reported that when using his Mac 10 with Safari he is getting an incorrect response when clicking on the correct area.
Hi Steve -- Thanks for reaching out, and might I ask if you would be able to share your file? I work on a Macbook Pro, but I'd be happy to see if I run into the same behavior. If privacy is a concern, and you are unable to share your file here in the thread, you are welcome to use this form for confidential review.
Hi, Steve -- Thank you for providing your file once more and I did some testing in a Windows VM in Chrome and then also within Chrome on my Mac, and I experienced the difficulty you described, and my apologies, but I was not able to determine where the issue is taking place. I will go ahead and create a Support ticket for you, and you will be reached by one of our engineers shortly thereafter.

Hello - I know this thread ended a few months ago but I ran into an issue that is similar and wanted to know what the solution was (if there was any).
I recently had a student who froze on a question created with Articulate Quizmaker. As soon as the landed on the first question the incorrect bar would display on the bottom of the slide and will not allow the student to answer any of the questions.
The student is using a MacBook and launched the course in the Safari browser. Told them to view the entire course, which includes the quiz, in Google Chrome.
Hi Neil! Thanks for popping in here to reach out. You mentioned the student is launching the course in the Safari browser. What environment was the course published for and where is the course being hosted? Is this something that they're accessing on a Website/LMS or is it a file they're launching from their mac?
It is a file they are launching through LMS. There are other quizzes built with Quizmaker and students have no issues going through those quizzes. It appears to be only when on a MacBook and using Safari.
Did you include the HTML5 output as a part of your publish within Quizmaker? You'll see that as a publishing options detailed here. Do you know if that same user was able to test it out in another web browser as well? I haven't heard of Safari causing specific issues, and we're also happy to take a look at testing it if you're able to share a link to the course here with us or even a copy of the .quiz file so that we could test publishing it as well. Lastly, do you know what update of Studio '13/Quizmaker you're using? We're currently on Update 8.
I am having the same issue... Hotstop questions work fine on Firefox, Chrome, etc... but our students on Mac with Safari get an "incorrect" feedback eventhough they clicked the right zone.
Hello Ali, I am sorry I missed your answer. I am still having this problem. Attached is a copy of a quiz where I only left one hotspot question. Can you help? Note: I have update 9 of studio 13. Thanks! Julien
Thanks so much for sharing your file with me! I published the quiz and uploaded it to SCORM Cloud to test it in an LMS. When I viewed it in Safari, it showed me the correct feedback:
I'm reworking an older course that was created using Studio '13 and I've noticed I have issues with Hot spots if the course is opened with Chrome vs Firefox. Here is the link to the course:
The issue is in section 5.2, 5.3, 5.5, 5.6, 5.8, 5.9. I don't have a problem in Firefox, but in Chrome, even if the right zone is selected, I get the incorrect feedback (see attached pic).
Thanks for including the link to your course. Was this most recent version also published with Studio '13?
If so, we're seeing a problem where hotspot questions are marked incorrect when a Quizmaker quiz is embedded in Presenter '13. This happens when the dimensions of the Quizmaker quiz are different than the dimensions of the Presenter slides.
For example, if the Quizmaker quiz size is 4:3, and the Presenter presentation size is 16:9, this problem will occur.
Does that sound similar to what's happening in your file?

Christie,
Here's the file. Let me know what you find out.
Steve
Thanks, Steve -- I will test your file shortly and will reply with my findings as soon as I can. Your patience is appreciated! :)
Hi, Steve -- Would it be possible for you to supply an answer key that I can use for testing?
Sorry, I sent you the wrong file. Here's the correct one. If you double click the hotspot sections you should be able to see the correct area.

Christie,
TY for checking this for me. So it appears that the problem is with Mac machines as it runs fine on my Windows machine running Chrome.
I presume tech support will contact me.

Hey Julien-- Sorry that's hanging you up! Thanks for letting us know.
Can you share your .quiz file so I can do some testing? You can add it right here in a comment attachment like this:

Hi Alyssa,
That's exactly what it was. Thanks for your help! :)
