Hotspot Quiz works correctly in Preview but not when I publish.....help

Nov 12, 2018

Hi All,

I have a hotspot quiz that I have created that works just fine when I preview it, but after I publish the quiz within Presenter it gives me the incorrect response.  I know that I am clicking within the "correct" hotspot area but it is giving me an "incorrect" feedback box.

Any thoughts?

Scott

So sorry you've come across this roadblock, Scott. I'd love to help, and have a few questions to start:

  • What version of Studio are you using?
  • Did you publish the course for Web, LMS, or something else?
  • Are you seeing this behavior with all quiz questions or just this particular one?
  • Would you be able to share your .quiz file with me? You can either add the file by using the Add Attachment button in your reply or send it privately via this link. I'll give it a test and let you know what I find!

Hi all !

It seems that I have the same bug... I didn't install the last update... So before doing it, your answers could give me the solution. I keep an eye on this topic !

I'm using Studio 13, I published for LMS (SCORM 1.2), and I have 3 questions with hotspot, all of them are concerned...

Edit : bug in HTML, but works perfectly when I launch in flash

Welcome, Benoit! You're in the right place for help, and I'm so sorry you've also come across this problem.

The behavior we see in Scott's file relates to an open issue where quizzes are being scored incorrectly when the Quiz Slide is a custom slide size that is different than the Presenter slide size. You're spot-on in that this is only happening within the HTML5 output.

While our team looks into this, the current workaround is to use the same Quiz Size as the slide size used in Presenter '13/PowerPoint. For example: Presentation Slide 4:3 = Quiz Size 720 x 540 (4:3)

Could you give this workaround a try and let us know what happens after republishing? Thanks!

Hello Katie, and thank you for your answer.
I had to get around the difficulty by changing my type of questions. I haven't been able to test your suggestion, but I know I'll be confronted with it again sooner or later.

All I know for the moment is that the slide size in presenter was different from the quizmaker size. It seems that your intuition is the right one... ;)

I'll let you know.
Thank you very much!
