How do you change the size of the text for a text entry item?

I've started created "simulations" using Quizmaker, and I've stumbled on a problem. I'm using a text entry question type to simulate a text entry field on a software screen as shown below:

I have tried changing the font size to 8 pt, but even when I do that, here's how it previews and publishes: 

Is it possible to change the size of the text that is to be entered into the text entry field? If so, how?
