How to modify "points" text in score variable textbox

May 01, 2014

Hello everybody!

I'm converting some English trainings to Chinese.
I tried to change "points" in score textbox, and it seemed that it caused some issue.
After I changed "points" to Chinese words, I couldn't preview/publish quiz any more.

When trying to preview/publish it, it looks like it is progressing but actually it is never completed.

The strange thing is that it didn't have any problem if I put English words like "aaa" instead of "points"

Is there any safe way to modify "points" part?

Hi Soogyung,

I was able to reproduce this issue on my end. With additional testing, I also experience crashing when attempting to publish a quiz with Chinese Simplified text within that score variable.

I also tried to place a Chinese character "點" after the variable (so it's not contained in the string) and this still caused the issue. Anywhere else on the slide seems to be fine, however.

It looks like the best option for this is to insert a new text box containing the Chinese characters. You can align this with the points that display on the results slide:

It's not perfect, but it should work for you until we're able to get more information on the issue.

I've started a report for this issue with our Quality Assurance team. I'll be sure to update this thread when we have more information.

Thank you!
