Inaccurate Quizmaker results

Dec 12, 2013

Hi, my Quizmaker results aren't calculated correctly: after writing the quiz and setting a 100% pass rate, I tested it by giving a mixture of correct and incorrect answers, and the reults page showed a green tick and the message that I had passed the quiz. What went wrong?

Hi Kay,

Thank you very much for getting back to me and for sharing the additional information.

Does this happen when you preview in Quizmaker '09 alone, as well as previewing your project in Presenter/PowerPoint?

I would recommend checking the file location of the project first. Make sure that you're working with all local project files.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If you are working locally, and still having trouble, are you able to share the .QUIZ file here? I'd be happy to take a look at what's happening. You can attach it by clicking on the "paperclip" icon in your response. Please keep in mind that if the file is large, it may not upload to the forums.

Thanks!

Kay,

I just opened the quiz file - I apologize for the delay.

First - German has always been something I'd like to learn, but I'm afraid I don't understand it just yet.

I did notice one thing when I opened the questions - for some reason, the point amount for both "Incorrect" and "Correct" answers is set to "0". This means that no matter what answer the learner selects, they'll receive 0 points.

I went into each question and changed the "Correct" response points to "20" - I left the "Incorrect" point value at 0.

Now, when previewing and answering incorrectly, the pass result shows properly for me.

I've saved and attached the modified file.

Can you take a look and let me know if you see an improvement on your end, as well?

Thanks!
