I understand how to delineate the number of times a user can take a quiz within a storyline webcast. My question is how to limit the quiz taking to one try only. Even after the user has exited the course and then relaunched it from within the lms.
The settings within your programs are for the current session on the LMS. In order to control subsequent sessions, this would be controlled by the LMS.
To let learners retry a quiz, you must use a graded result slide, and mark the box to "Allow user to retry quiz" on the Failure and/or Success layers. See this article for more information.
This does not control the user exiting and re-entering the course, just the session that they are currently utilizing.
Thanks for the quick post back. I'm interested in the original question's outcome: "how to limit the quiz taking to one try only. Even after the user has exited the course and then relaunched it from within the lms".
I want users to only be able to access the post assessment one time, and one time only. And, if they launch the course again, I don't want them to be able to take the post assessment again.
I do want to use a graded results slide, because I'm interested in their one and only score. Thanks!
Hopefully, too, someone within the community can help. Thanks. I have full knowledge on my LMS and the SCORM reporting heuristics, so I'm all good there. Want to understand how to configure an assessment in Storyline 2 so that a user can take it one time, and one time only.
I apologize Anne. Since this is the Quizmaker forum, I thought you were looking at information on Quizmaker.
The details on limiting your attempts in Storyline 2 can be found here. If you are not allowing more than one attempt, it will be as simple as not having the box checked to allow re-try.
Again, subsequent logins cannot be controlled by this setting and are only applicable for the active session.

Please explain how this is a function of the LMS and not the course design. Thanks!

Hopefully someone in the community will be able to assist you. It may also assist if you reach out to your LMS team to try to understand.
