Locate quiz manually before publishing

Jan 07, 2014

I regularly need to adapt (translate) existing e-learnings with embedded quizzes. So, I translate the quiz and then want to publish the e-learning. During the translation, the quiz is stored as a new file in the same folder as the powerpoint/pa file. But, if I want to publish, the original quiz (stored somewhere else) is attached to the e-learning instead of the translated one.

I had never problems with this before. Normally Articulate asks me to locate the quiz before publishing. This is not happening anymore. Articulate still asks me to update the quiz (no problem there), but does not ask me to locate the quiz. So, the original (although updated) quiz file is attached instead of the translated one. Can anyone help me out with this? Is it possible to manually locate the quiz before publishing?

Thanks in advance

Hi Joke and welcome to the community!

Which version of Studio are you working with, '09 or '13?

Also, are you working with any files on a network drive, or any other external source? If so, it might be a good idea to move your projects to your local hard drive.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

If that doesn't help, try removing the quiz and insert the updated/translated quiz.

If you've opened the published project files locally and multiple times to test it, it may also be a good idea to try clearing your browser cache. It's also recommended that you avoid testing locally and try uploading to a web server or LMS for testing.

Let us know if you see any improvement.

Thanks and welcome again!
