Make a quiz that is not scored

Jun 21, 2011

I need to make a friendly quiz that the score won't count in the LMS. I tried using a survey but I did not see the same type of questions that a quiz offers. Any suggestions?

Hi James! Blair has a good idea there.

here are a few other things to consider...

You're right that the list of survey question types is a little different than graded question types. If you see some graded question types that you'd like to use instead of the survey question types, you can do that, but you'll need to first switch your survey to a graded quiz so that Quizmaker allows you to insert the graded question types also. You can do this by clicking Quiz Properties and at the bottom of the window, use the Quiz Type selector to switch to "Graded Quiz."

You'll also probably want to remove any scoring info from the quiz player, so that it feels less "quizzy." Here's a tutorial that shows how to do that.

And, you can also turn off (or at least modify) your result slides so that learners aren't told that they "passed" or "failed" at the end of the quiz.

Good luck with your project! Let us know how things turn out!
